If you like the Seiko Speedtimer SSC813’s white dial and dark subdials, the Orient TX02 and Tactical Frog VS75 V2 are two solar chronographs worth comparing. The useful differences are case footprint, calendar layout, bezel function and budget.
This is a specification-based comparison of three exact configurations. It does not include hands-on testing of finishing, bracelet comfort, lume or long-term reliability. Watchdives sells the Tactical Frog option; Seiko and Orient links below go to their own product information.
Three solar chronographs at a glance
| Model | Listed case diameter / lug-to-lug | Movement | Calendar and bezel | Stated water resistance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seiko Speedtimer SSC813 | 39mm / 45.5mm | V192 solar | Date; tachymeter scale | 10 bar |
| Orient TX02 RA-TX0203S10B | 42.8mm / 48.1mm | VS752 solar quartz | Date; 120-click unidirectional bezel | 200m |
| Tactical Frog VS75 V2 — White | 41mm / 49mm | VS75 solar quartz | No visible date window in this configuration; ceramic bezel with tachymeter scale | 20 bar / 200m |
All three listings specify stainless-steel cases and sapphire crystals. Water-resistance figures are manufacturer or seller ratings, not a comparative pressure test. Follow each watch’s own instructions for water use and operating its controls.
Keep the SSC813 on your list for its smaller footprint
The SSC813 has the shortest listed lug-to-lug length here. Its V192 also provides a power-reserve indicator, alongside the date and a chronograph that records up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments. Those are practical reasons to choose it if compact dimensions and a visible charge indication matter more than the lowest purchase price.
The two alternatives are larger on the stated measurements. Compare those figures with a watch that fits you; bracelet end links and wrist shape can change how a watch wears. No current US Seiko price is quoted here, so check the exact SSC813 offer with your retailer.
Choose the Orient TX02 for a date and rotating bezel
The white-dial RA-TX0203S10B combines a calendar window with a rotating elapsed-time bezel. That gives it a different timing layout from a tachymeter-scale chronograph. Orient lists a 22mm steel bracelet, compared with the Tactical Frog’s 20mm band width.
Orient Watch USA displayed US$350 for this exact reference when checked. That is the official US store’s offer, not a claim about every retailer’s price. If you want both a date and the rotating bezel, the Orient is the closer match to those requirements.
Choose the Tactical Frog V2 for a solar option below $200
The linked White V2 was available at US$179. Its listing specifies a 316L steel case and bracelet, sapphire with anti-reflective coating, and a ceramic chronograph bezel. The photographed dial has no visible calendar window, so it will not meet a requirement for an at-a-glance date.
Its 41mm case and 49mm lug-to-lug length also make it a different fit proposition from the SSC813. The product lists VS75 without a suffix; this comparison does not treat it as the same calibre as Seiko’s V192 or Orient’s VS752.
Choose the features you will actually use
Start with your maximum comfortable case length, then decide whether you need a date, a rotating bezel or a charge indicator. Price comes after those requirements: a less expensive watch that omits an essential display is not a substitute for it.
Prices and the Tactical Frog variant’s availability were checked on October 8, 2026. Listed USD watch prices exclude shipping, taxes and import charges; recheck the selected option and delivered total before ordering.
