Why Do Some Miyota 9015 / 90-Series Watches Have Audible Rotor Noise?

Miyota's current FAQ states that its mechanical movements use unidirectional winding. Miyota explains that the rotor can spin freely in one direction and use recoil energy to contribute to winding efficiency.

Because of that architecture, some owners notice more rotor sound or feel than on watches using a different winding system. Community discussions often mention the characteristic free-spinning rotor. The presence of audible rotor movement by itself does not prove the watch is defective.
