Is the ML08 Green a quartz alternative to the Seiko Alpinist?

If you like the Seiko Alpinist SPB121J1’s green dial, gold-tone numerals and cathedral-style hands but prefer quartz, compare the ML08 Green on nylon or Green on a steel bracelet. These date-equipped versions use battery-powered Ronda 515 quartz, not VH31, solar or automatic movements. They have a date window but no compass ring or date magnifier. The SPB121J1 offers an automatic movement, rotating inner compass ring and magnified date, with a listed 20-bar rating versus the ML08’s 10 bar. Choose Green for those styling details and quartz ownership; it does not reproduce the Alpinist’s functions, and this comparison makes no claim of equivalent quality or wrist fit. Can I fit a steel bracelet later?

Check your case batch and the exact bracelet before buying separately; 20mm lug width alone does not guarantee a fit. For its ML08 bracelet, Militado identifies newer cases by a notch and warns that older cases can leave a gap between the case and the bracelet’s first link. This does not establish compatibility with other bracelets. If you already want steel, select “Stainless Steel Bracelet” under Band when ordering your ML08, and check availability for your chosen dial.
