12-Hour Chronograph Watches Under $300: Two Quartz Options

12-Hour Chronograph Watches Under $300: Two Quartz Options

For an affordable quartz chronograph that records elapsed hours, compare the Militado ML1868-2 and Thorn T026C. The selected configurations have no visible date window and were available at $99 and $219 respectively when checked on October 8, 2026.

Look for an elapsed-hour counter

A subdial marked “24” may show the time of day rather than stopwatch hours. On TMI’s standard VK63 layout, the 24-hour indicator follows the main time, while the chronograph measures up to 60 minutes. The VK67 adds a separate 12-hour chronograph counter.

The official TMI VK63/VK67 operation manual states that the VK63 stops timing after 60 minutes and the VK67 after 12 hours. Those are the documented movement limits. Our VK63 guide explains its display in more detail.

Two current options compared

ML1868-2, No calendar VK67 quartz chronograph 60 minutes and 12 hours $99
T026C-Chronograph/5030D Ronda 5030.D quartz chronograph 30 minutes and 12 hours $219

Militado ML1868-2: nylon strap and the lower price

Militado ML1868-2 on black nylon with no date window, a 60-minute register at 12 and a 12-hour register at 9
ML1868-2 Black nylon / No calendar. The lower subdial shows running seconds; the left subdial records chronograph hours.

The ML1868-2 combines an Arabic-numeral dial with a 39mm case, 46.5mm lug-to-lug and listed 12.3mm thickness including the crystal. Its product description specifies sapphire with AR coating and a 20mm lug width.

Both Black nylon / No calendar and Green nylon / No calendar were available at $99. These exact options keep the date window off the face. Calendar versions are separate selections.

Thorn T026C: steel bracelet and a different layout

Thorn T026C chronograph on a steel bracelet with a 30-minute register at 9, a 12-hour register at 6 and no visible date window
T026C’s pictured face places elapsed hours at 6 and running seconds at 3. The two product photographs were taken separately and are not shown at a common scale.

The T026C-Chronograph/5030D was $219. Its listing specifies a 38mm case without crown, 47mm lug-to-lug, 12.3mm thickness including the bubble sapphire crystal, a 19mm band width and a steel bracelet.

Select T026C specifically. The T026A and T026B choices use PT5000 automatic movements, and the T026D option is a multi-watch set. The Ronda 5030.D’s separate minute and hour registers are illustrated in Luminox’s manufacturer reference for that calibre; use Thorn-specific guidance for operating the finished watch.

No date window does not mean a no-date movement

Both calibres support a date function. The selected Militado options and the pictured Thorn face omit the date aperture, but that does not establish removal of the internal calendar mechanism or the absence of a calendar-setting crown position.

Choose the Militado for its lower price, numbered dial and nylon strap, or the T026C for its steel bracelet and alternative register layout. Confirm the exact configuration and follow its own instructions for crown and pusher operation.
